I’m Jim Vogt (pronounced ‘vote’) and as a 25 year law enforcement veteran, most of my career has been spent helping my friends and neighbors in our wonderful mountain communities. Serving as your Sheriff will be the greatest honor of my career as a peace officer. I understand the trust that the residents of Clear Creek County, from Evergreen and Floyd Hill to St. Mary’s and Silver Plume give to the Office of the Sheriff, and as an elected official, I will take my responsibilities seriously.
Over the past 10-15 years, many events have taken place that have necessitated rapid and continual change in how law enforcement and emergency services operate, from terrorism to massive weather storms, wildland fires to diminished budgets. Law enforcement now requires an All-Hazards approach to these events making cooperation and information sharing paramount. I have worked very hard to expand my knowledge, capabilities and cooperative efforts and I continue to be a recognized leader in law enforcement and emergency services, not just locally, but regionally as well as on a state level. It is and will always be a priority to remember that law enforcement and the Clear Creek County Sheriff’s Office is a service organization, and above everything else, we are responsible to the citizens and visitors of Clear Creek County.
I have received informed and valuable input from Citizens and I will incorporate this information to move the Sheriff’s Office forward in training, technology, efficiency and public service. As Sheriff, I will stress service, attention to duty, personal and professional growth, education, self-motivation, accountability, community involvement and cooperation as the hallmarks of Clear Creek County Sheriff’s Office.T
